Privacy Policy

Dawnr is a smart alarm for iOS published by yakadev (sole trader, France), the data controller under the GDPR.

Our principle is simple: Dawnr runs on your device. The app has no server of its own to host your data. We don't create accounts, we don't track you, and we never sell your information.

In short

• Your calendars and location are read locally, on your iPhone, solely to schedule your alarms.
• No calendar event or location history is sent to yakadev.
• The only data that leaves the device concerns route calculation (handled by Apple) and subscription management (handled by Apple and RevenueCat).
• No analytics, advertising or tracking tools are included.

Data processed and purposes

Calendars

With your permission (iOS Calendars access), Dawnr reads your calendar events to detect your first appointment of the day and derive your wake-up time. This reading happens locally, on the device. No calendar content is transmitted to yakadev or stored outside your iPhone.

Location

With your permission (iOS Location access), Dawnr uses your location to estimate the travel time to your appointment. Route calculation relies on Apple Maps (MapKit): the origin and destination are sent to Apple's services to obtain the trip duration, in accordance with Apple's privacy policy. Your location is not retained by yakadev and is not shared for any other purpose.

Subscription and purchases

Dawnr subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store (StoreKit) and the RevenueCat service, which validates and synchronizes your subscription status. This involves processing: an anonymous installation identifier generated by the app, purchase information (product, date, subscription status) and technical data (device type, iOS version). This data is used solely to operate the subscription (unlocking features, restoring purchases). No payment data (card number) is accessible to yakadev; it is handled by Apple.

Notifications

Dawnr's notifications (alarm change, next alarm, grace period…) are local, generated on your device. They do not require sending your data to a server.

What we don't do

• No user account, no password.
• No analytics, no ad trackers, no profiling.
• No selling or commercial sharing of your data.
• No collection of your calendars or location on a yakadev server.

Third-party services

To function, the app relies on services provided by third parties, acting as processors or controllers depending on the case:

• Apple — App Store, StoreKit (purchases) and MapKit (routing). See Apple's privacy policy.
• RevenueCat — technical subscription management. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

Transfers outside the European Union

Some processors (notably RevenueCat) are based in the United States. Any data transfers are governed by the mechanisms provided for under the GDPR (standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards implemented by these providers).

Legal basis (GDPR)

• Consent — access to your calendars and location, which you grant via iOS permissions and can withdraw at any time in Settings.
• Performance of a contract — managing your subscription.
• Legitimate interest — the proper functioning and security of the app.

Data retention

The data read (calendars, location) is not retained beyond the calculation of your alarms and lives on your device. Subscription data is retained by Apple and RevenueCat for as long as necessary to manage the subscription and meet their legal obligations.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to, restrict and port your data. As most data stays on your device, you control it directly: revoking a permission in iOS Settings or deleting the app erases the corresponding local data.

Security

Local processing benefits from iOS system protections (app sandbox, device encryption). Exchanges with Apple's and RevenueCat's services are encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

Children

Dawnr is not intended for children under 15 and does not knowingly collect data about them.

Changes

This policy may change along with the app. In the event of a significant change, the update date above will be revised and, where appropriate, you will be informed within the app.
